In late 2021, Cork City Council confirmed that the St Patrick’s Day Parade was to go ahead once again in full after a two year break, due to the relaxation around pandemic restrictions. Cork Community Art Link got to work straight away in preparation for the event.
The theme was ‘Everyday Heros; Ordinary People in Extroadinary Times’.
In collaboration with various community groups, CCAL developed, created and showcased a spectacular addition to the parade, including a giant articulated granny, a mechanised, piloted biplane, and all manner of costumed performers who interacted with the floats as the parade wound around the streets of Cork City centre on the 17th March.
