Dragon of Shandon 2022
2022 saw the return of the Dragon of Shandon Parade. The Dragon, along with her cohort of ghoulish creatures, was finally able to leave her layer in Shandon and take back the streets of the north side, culminating in a finale show on the Coal Quay. Giant floats, skeleton puppets, costumed and masked performers, dancers, musicians and amazing community groups, all took to the streets to celebrate Samhain once again and the time between times.
Participants in 2022's parade were National Learning Network, Suisha Inclusive Arts, Brothers of Charity Blackpool Community Access Programme, Joan Denise Moriarty School of Dance, international collaborators La Bergerie with Santa Machete, The Tribe Dance Academy, Cobh Animation Team, Mayfield Community School, YMCA Rise, Cork City Samba, CCAL Drama Trope, CCAL Skeleton Puppets, Mexican Community in Cork, The Cork Butter Exchange Band, Cork Circus Factory with Plan B, Cork Life Centre, CCAL Comic Kids, Mars and Diane, and our amazing volunteers and stewards.
