St Patrick's Day - Workshops
For 2017 we were involved in the Cork City St. Patrick’s Day Parade with three large floats - a Treehouse, a Shoe and a Tramway - and one smaller "Corner Shop". Each of these was accompanied by characters in costume.
As in previous years, each float was developed as a tableau representing a scene within a larger story. We engaged with five community groups - Cope Foundation, Enable Ireland, Fairhill Gang, National Learning Network, Blackpool Glen Farranree Community Youth Training Centre and Shandon Shed Men’s Club - as well as many volunteers over several weeks through workshops in costume and props making, float building and performance.
Over the last 23 years our standards, ambition and commitment to our city have been consistently displayed through work that stands out for its originality and quality and we are once again very proud of our contribution to this years' Paddy's parade.
