CCAL 1993-2009 - Time for change

After 16 years work and projects spanning a range of mediums and contexts Cork Community Art Link is set to change. Over the next 18 months we will be looking at how our work engages with people and groups accross the city and explore paths for future initiatives. To achieve this we have commenced a review of our activities with cultural consultant Francois Matarasso working with us on a series of initial steps. This review marks a new phase in our development and signals some major future changes ahead for CCAL. We look forward to keeping you informed and updated in what should be a stimulating and reflective transitional period.

Community Performance

Following the debut Bench Poetry performance during the Shandon Street Festival the community theatre performance workshops are taking a summer break. Workshops resume in September. Spaces are available on this free course and available on a first come basis.

The Dragon of Shandon

Preparations for the 4th Dragon of Shandon Halloween Parade are underway with some fabulous tape creations in the pipeline. We will be outlining ways in which individuals and groups can get involved from September. We are delighted that our 2008 parade sponsors Cathedral Credit Union and Southern Tapes and Packaging are continuing to support the Halloween Parade and are sponsoring the 2009 parade.

Crubeens, Shawlies and Washed Walls

Temporary wall washed murals by Cork Community Art Link and Artitillerie offering a glimpse of Shandon past and present remain on display until the end of September. Created as part of a participative arts project and developed through research, workshops and conversations with the wider community
